Pitta - the Sharpest Blade and the Brightest Torch

It is time for your guidelines, dear Pitta. Keep in mind that it is important to actually make sense of some of these suggestions and try it out. Pitta is not always so easily convinced. Pay attention that most constitutions are a subtle balance between the three doshas. To know something more about yourself and your constitution, you might find it helpful to go through these quizzes.
Yes, this work is just for you personally and there's no comparison possibility or challenge unless you want to share the quizzes and results with others. If somewhere in between you felt the temptation of do all the quizzes in one time, you possibly have some Pitta in you. Or if you are snacking on spicy chips at the same time, the same :)

So, now you know you possibly are a Pitta dosha and perhaps get some fiery or fluctuating imbalances related to the dosha. Don't heat up now, we will balance it out with some lifestyle suggestions
10 Aspects of Pitta Diet
Prefer bitter and astringent taste, sweet is also fine. Pitta does well on cold/cool, heavy and moist or oily food. Reduce dryness, hotness, and lightness of the food.
The approximate balance:
50% whole grains, 20% protein, 20-30% vegetables (10% may be also fruits)
Seeds before nuts. Pitta will be prosperous and growing through choosing all kinds of seeds, especially pumpkin, flax, and sunflower seeds. Minimize or avoid nuts as they have heating and dry qualities. If any, nuts should only be in soaked or cooked form, in halva or some kind of butter (avoid peanut butter)
Cool and smart oiling. Although oily food is beneficial, the right type of oil very important. Olive and Coconut oil have cooling qualities. Butter and ghee are fine for Pitta. Almond, sesame, corn oil should be minimized as they have heating qualities.
Modest spicing. Cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, turmeric, cumin, and fennel are suitable. Pitta might love cayenne pepper, garlic, ginger, and basil, but they are really to dry and too heating. In fact, most spices should be only used in small amounts. Check the spice chart in this post
Binding the fruits. Pitta is balanced by adding a few astringent fruits during the light time of the day. Apples, pears, cranberries, pomegranate are possibly the best choices. Most of the fruits are beneficial for Pitta, minimize overly sweet or overly heavy or overly heavy fruits like figs, lemons, sour apples, dates, ripe bananas.
The sweeteners passage. As Pitta doesn't tend to overindulge with sweet, most sweeteners are ok except honey and molasses
If meat, then poultry. Chicken, pheasant, turkey are acceptable. Seafood and egg yolk will aggravate Pitta (egg whites are beneficial
Rice it! White rice more than others, brown rice is rather okayish. Wheat, barley and oats are beneficial. Rhye, millet, corn should be minimized
Milk, butter and ghee balance Pitta, but sour forms of milk should be avoided. Minimize yogurt, sour cream, cheese and cultured buttermilk (mostly because of the sour taste and salt)
The green game. Most green vegetables are super for you. Green salads with olive oil have cooling and bitter qualities. For the main course, try to add heavy qualities to the vegetable dish by adding grains or oils. Asparagus, cabbage, cucumber, green beans, green leafy vegetable, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, sprouts, carrot, pumpkin
To bean or not to bean. There are actually three choices: mung dahl, lentils, or tofu. Shortly, most bean rather not
The Lifestyle Challenges for Pitta

1. Acceptance and nature
Seek for a community where you can feel completely accepted and eased
Find activities in nature you can do on a weekly basis: hiking, canoeing, photo hunting, fishing. Water activities are good since they have a cooling effect.
Keep an audio, video, or written diary. As your element (water and fire) take different shapes and fluctuate with energy, you need a method of self-reflection more than other doshas
Gratitude list os keeping gratitude memos or journal will help you through the times when you are overly challenging yourself to do better
2. Sweet nothings and bitter nostalgia
- add many of these sweet and bitter little spots throughout the day
Adding yourself or asking you closest ones to add a nice memo on your pc each day
Having that 5 min breather with closed eyes every 3 hours
Looking at that nice nostalgic family or travel photo framed in your office
Splashing cool water on your face a few times during the day
Having a fruit snack or green smoothie from time to time
Admitting a bit of a mistake to your friends - it makes you cool down
When everyone is in child's pose in that Yoga class and you still want to plank it in the front row, go for another sip of water instead
3. Adding humor to oil the sharpness and seeing the beauty of the flow
reading funny stories or watching comedy movies from time to time
having some anecdotes ready for challenging times
laughing all the fire out (better than collecting anger instead)
gazing at the starts, the moons, the ocean and the people around you and noticing the beauty of being
4. The cool spectrum
Choosing clothes, desktop wallpapers, even furniture more of the colder spectrum
Listening to sounds and music that is rather peaceful: soft, rhythmic music with a mid-range tone
Cooling aromatherapy: sandalwood, fennel, lime, ylang-ylang, vanilla, rose, jasmine, lavender
The cold treatment: funny, but true. Sometimes Pitta actually needs the "cold treatment" from others around them and the closest ones should be informed about this aspect
5. Keeping yourself beautiful and paying attention to your senses.
